I decided I was bored with just piercing on my shade. I made a script in game to explain it (I get asked more than I used to on my MA doc). The following is the script contents explaining some basics. I didn't expect to get enough interest to write this all up but I have. I'm not the first MA Shade....

Step 0) ... do Collector ... and pray you get a LUCKY box from Collector ... and you can get a pre-built PDKP with no Tradeskills or APF belt needed.

Posting for folks who don't know where to grab this. Why do you want one? Because with +crit gear the weapon does VERY good damage. IF you want to make the New Engine shine ... literally ... use Reshade. I've done a lot of tweaking to my Reshade to both speed it up and to optimize display (for me). Once installed, use the "SHIFT+F2" menu in-game to tune things to your liking. There are places where my settings are too ...

update: I still crash, usually daily, but rarely compared to before.

The launcher (which is what needed Steam modifications) is the same for both. And there are reports you can kludge the new engine to work in Steam if you know what you're doing. Given all the crashes in the new engine, the decision is no surprise, but sad. As to me this says FC isn't looking at fixi...
