What would be your best computer case regardless prices?

What would be your best computer case if money was not a concern?

Yes we can still dream, and, yes, I must say that looking for the best stuff Mophro could get for a given budget made me wonder about computer cases for the day I can pay for a Core 17 system.

Post your Geeks dreams and (more serious) suggestions!

And we'll start the hard way indeed...

The
"NO way you'll make me buy THAT but maybe someone will like it"
Oscar goes to...
Cooler Master Stacker 830 Diamond Plate
958 euros / 1369 USD (!) #-o

This is not a joke, this is a limited series... Oh thanks My Lord, it's limited so it should disappear soon!

No, even with the cash, I wouldn't consider getting that. BTW the series is so limited that it's not even listed on Cooler Master web site http://www.coolermaster-usa.com (but you can see the details about the standard version on the site). Thanks Cooler Master makes other high-end cases (like the Cosmos). I'll let someone else make suggestions maybe.

The
"I maybe look too serious but I'll own them all
and I'll cost you an arm and a leg anyhow"

Oscar goes too...
Lian Li PC-X1000
369,99 euros / 539 USD
http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/pr ... s_index=61

Outstanding quality and design, rubber anti-vibrations stuff everywhere. OK, I'll rob a bank and I'll buy it.
And if you are not happy, you can spend another leg for the big brother PC-X2000 with its whole internal anodized in black, even more room, handles for hard disks, and sections designed differently (419 euros / 599 USD). Hmmmm... wait... after robbing the bank, I'll get the X2000.

Oscar goes to...
Corsair Obsidian 800D
254,95 euros / 365 USD
http://www.corsair.com/products/800d/default.aspx

Strict, impressive, very well designed and very well made, and almost cheap compared to the Lian-Li which more or less belongs to the same philosophy. You can rob a smaller bank...

Oscar goes to...
Zalman Z-Machine LQ1000 Liquid Cooling
569 € / 813 USD
http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Pro ... sp?idx=309

Watch out! Liquid cooling inside and cool display devices everywhere. In your wildest dreams you probably couldn't imagine it. Nicely manufactured too. One question though... when such a model is discontinued and you need spare parts, what do you do?!

Thermaltake Level 10
679,99 € / 971 USD
http://www.thermaltake.com/product_info ... ov=n&ovid=
and (microsite) http://www.ttlevel10.com/

Ok, this impressive little and cheap (only 971 US$!) thing was designed by BMW for Thermaltake. I'm now waiting to see what Mercedes-Benz and Bentley will do the day they join the computer case business! Well, we can only say "whoah" in front of such a thing but also be a bit scared: it is so specific... how can we be sure it will handle possible evolutions? And, one again, better not need spare parts in a few years... One positive thing though: if you got such a case and have friends for dinner, you won't have to entertain them: just let them watch the artwork.

The
"Almost gimp hahaha"
Oscar goes to...
Twelve Hundred - EC
148,99 € / 213 USD
http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MTA4Mg==

Well you can buy 4 like this one for one Thermaltake... gimp case! But to be honest it's quite impressive, well made even if it can't compare to the Lian-Li, with plenty of room, lot of air flow, and it uses the excellent 20cm "big boy" Antec fan at the top. Maybe it could encounter some success... outside lunatic asylums.

Oscar goes to...
Antec Skeleton
124 € / 178 USD - Mesh cover option: 40 euros / 57 USD
http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MTA2MA==

The triumph of Open Air computer, what else can we say?! Suggestion: get rid of your cat before getting this model. (For cat lovers, though, Antec now offers a "mesh" cover, as an option.)
I'm not sure it's a "dream case" but I could hardly forget it here!
There is a smaller model too.

OK, we saw some wild things there but some serious ones too, and all expensive although some were much more reasonable. What would be your ideas and models for the "best" computer case regardless prices?

none of those were all that expensive.

I was expecting above $10k

I'd pay 1K for a cool case if I was a computer nerd. I've paid more for a suit. Its all about the same.

I'ma find cool ones, just you wait!!

Well, considering that the Lian-Li 2000 case alone (which can still be considered reasonable hardware and not show-off) sells for something above the average market price of a full non-gamer system (500ish USD), and the Thermaltake sells for almost twice that price, I would say they are expensive by market standards.

Maybe we can ask the jewelers of the Place Vendôme in Paris if they make computer cases?!

But our purpose is not to find the most expensive cases ever but dream cases if price was not a concern.

I think implies you would have to sell your kidney to Grind to buy it.

LOL at the description on the Happy Hacking Keyboard.

"This made to order keyboard is coated many times using a special brush made from the hairs of virgins, and then powdered with gold dust!"
