General FYI on the ranks in the guild in SWTOR is below.
New people to AP will come in as Recruits for a 2-week-ish probationary period just like AP in AO.
Existing AO members in good standing immediately get their current AO rank equivalent (Unit Member in AO gets Member in SWTOR, Unit Leaders/Commanders become Lieutenants, Generals/Squad Commands get Officer).
This means there are 2 FEWER ranks in SWTOR, but the overall capabilities map very well to how we use ranks in AO since we barely ever used Unit Commander except as an honorific title and Squad Commander only needed to be different from General for honorific as well as to allow city shields to be dropped (which we won't need to worry about).
NOTES:
- We may add the honorifics in later, but for now given the lower guild size, keeping it trim makes more sense.
- All NEW invites are, by default, "Recruit" when invited. Promote as needed when inviting.
- There is a new rank, "Chat-locked", for cases where someone needs to be squelched on chat but a /gkick isn't necessarily desired (examples: someone drunk, someone's kid playing, etc). DO NOT use this rank frivolously please, it is a tool. It is "above" Recruit in the list of ranks only because it allows us to invite new players as Recruits that are NOT squelched. Otherwise this should be considered the lowest possible rank.
