New Forums are up

Post by Hyde »

The new Forums are up. You MAY already have an account there (my old account worked) but you may also need to create a new login from your Funcom account page (I did this ... and ended up with 2 accounts at least for now).

To CHANGE your forums username, you should be able to go to your account page, enter both your CURRENT and NEW names/passwords and have things update on the forums. I don't know if this keeps your old settings (signature, posts, etc) but I assume so. If you end up with 2 accounts, this will only work for the account linked to your account.

It looks like all NEW accounts will require an active subscription. Interesting. I wonder if my old account will get deleted or slide by as a semi-permanent account like on AO forums. DON'T TELL :) I'm sure plenty of folks ended up in this boat.

The first 1,000 people who sign up are supposed to receive a custom title, "An Initio" (their translation: 'from the beginning'), as per their Facebook page.

They appear to have preserved some of the old forums, unsure if they kept them all.

PS. The forums are nearly completely useless to my way of using forums ... there appears to be no "Latest Posts" / "New Posts" OR quick search options. I found Advanced Search but it does not allow for searching with no terms (ie, still no "New Posts" ability).

Looks like their system is starting to have problems ... reports on Facebook about not being able to log in after 90 minutes. I had changed my password through the account page and am no longer able to log in to that account, either. Looks like it might be getting bogged down. So ... if you try to register or update your account ... don't panic if you get temporarily locked out. If your old forums name/password still work just keep using them for now.

My old account (for puic forums, NOT beta forums) worked immediately but my signature was gone and I had to make another.

Looks like Ariensky actually has something a bit more newb friendly and I'm busy ... so not reposting mine there. We can keep it for posting on TSWUniverse.com if you want to ensure we have ownership over the content.

Sure we can keep it and use it on TSWU. :) I haven't seen the one you mentioned yet.

We can also improve it (although it was really good) at some point so it becomes the very best. Taking your word for it, once again I liked your work a lot.

I didn't have to register, it was all set already. Am I qualified?! :?!:

I strongly doubt even Funcom can answer that right now.
