Edit:
Forgot the word 'off'
Not dual cards but the card has 2x GPU on it, so internal CrossFire on the card itself.
Trying to get back into TSW
Re: Trying to get back into TSW
Hm special architecture then... Any chance you can test your system with another Radeon mono GPU? I'm not saying to drop your card, just trying to determine the center of your issues?
Re: Trying to get back into TSW
On my Crossfire card, toggling it "on" only means i'm instructing it to look for the second card. I'm curious about yours now.
Re: Trying to get back into TSW
The internal CrossFire Bridge works exactly the same as the bridge between 2 cards. Disable the search for the card turn the extra chip off. Especially newer model cards go into a hibernation state to prevent powerusage when the machine doesn't ask for it to work. Same thing on the 7990 card.
Card itself:

The 2 bigger chips are the GPU's (2x 7970 clocked at 950/1000 MHz).
The smaller silver chip in between those is the internal CrossFireX connection, which is normally done by a cable (which is still possible with this card too, you can put 2 in 1 machine for quad CFX).
